It wasn't just any mushroom, the one she picked that day. How was she to know things would turn out this way.
There it was, growing, down by her favorite stream. Plump, juicy, golden - every unicorn's dream.
She felt it as it happened.
She felt it slip away.
No use crying over it. What's done, now, is done.
