Welcome OWOH 2011! The first time I participated I had no idea what to expect. The one thing I didn't expect was finding lifelong friends in the blogosphere but that's exactly what happened. I'm very excited about doing it again. {Click on the OWOH banner for more info.}
I'm a folk artist from Georgia in the southern part of the United States. I love music, art, photography, baking, babies, animals, animal babies, the great outdoors, gardening, the smell of cucumbers, nutella, twix and oreos. They call me a wayward spirit because I get restless if I stay anywhere for too long. My heart does not belong to any one place. I'd love to travel the world with a backpack (full of nutella, twix and oreos) on a gypsy caravan. If you'd like to know a little more about me, you'll find an About Me tab up there at the top of the page.
I started selling my artwork online just after my first child was born in 2003 as a way to express my creativity and to support my desire to be a stay at home mom (one of the toughest jobs in the world, by the way!). I love what I do. Not only because I get to stay at home and be creative but also because I've met some of the greatest people in the world. I can actually say I have friends from all over the globe. How cool is that!
I'm so very glad you've come to visit Peach Street. I hope you'll leave a comment and tell me a bit about yourself. I can't wait to "meet" you. Oh! And if you do, leave a comment that is, you could win one of my folk art pieces. Be sure to leave me a link to your blog in case you're the winner and so I can come and visit.
Wow, Jamie, your bunny is so adorable. You always make me smile with your work and never cease to amaze me with it all. Have lots of fun during the OWOH event.

Okay, first off, I wanted to reply to your comments on my blog, so I hit the name and your profile comes up and I see...favorite movies and the first one is Harry Potter and I think, Oh cool I totally agree, then Love Actually and I think, wow, how funny is this, that's one of mine too...then Dirty Dancing and I say, well Of Course! and then I think how weird is this, then The Holiday and I'm thinking...are you kidding with this? So far you have named some of my most favorite movies...then Pretty in Pink...your killing me here...Personally I think Dirty Dancing is all about the ending, the final Dance..."no one puts Baby in the corner"...never get tired of it...and The Holiday and Love Actually are both regular seasonal movies for me..it's not Xmas without them...and Harry just makes me feel like everything is going to be alright...because Magic is created everyday by my every thought...so there you have it...then I come to your OWOH post and what do you know...I was literally JUST talking to someone about the smell of fresh cucumbers and how "alive" that aroma is to me!....then I look at your work and you are just terrific...so needless to say, I'm following now...and thx for all your great comments about my rock posters and the illustrations...but more than that thx for the "anniversary wishes"...so many people are simply making me feel great with their well wishes to us..."the OWOH love connection"...thx again for playing...from a kindred spirit...june # 75

ReplyDeleteHumph.
ReplyDeleteYou are alright. I am an asshole (i wrote asshole on your blog) about visiting people back, but your email killed me.
So,
we'll just go ahead and skip to the part where we are best friends. Except that i don't like children, and I see that you do.
I have children and they are teenager-ish now. They can do their own wash and clean up their own bathrooms, so I don't have to bother about them too much, and they are pretty good at poker and chess. Small children and babies do a lot of crying, are very time consuming and generally talk in a really high pitched voice that I loathe.
That aside, I say we just skip right to BFFs?
Deal?
Xx,
Amy
And you're right, it is only fair:
ReplyDeleteyou are lovely and beauteous.
I'll take that prize now please.
Because what you are giving away is pretty damn good.
Even though you like babies.
Xx,
Amy

Hello, Jamie
ReplyDeleteSo you have been drawing all you life, beginning on walls. Sounds like my brother who is now a professional children's book illustrator..he drew a railroad track on my parents aqua carpeting when he was three so his wooden train would have something to 'ride' around on. I love your sculptured dolls. Please enter me in your giveaway. I am in the Cloth and Clay doll ning with Jane Des Rosier which can still be joined for $10 with lots of tutorials.
Cheers!
